In this refreshingly clear-eyed book, written with no agenda other than to record his experiences and insights for the benefit of history, McClellan provides unique perspective on what happened and why it happened the way it did, including the Iraq war, Hurricane Katrina, Washington's bitter partisanship, and two hotly contested presidential campaigns. He gives readers a candid look into who George W. Bush is and what he believes, and into the personalities, strengths, and liabilities of his top aides. Finally, McClellan looks to the future, exploring the lessons this presidency offers the American people as we prepare to elect a new leader.

The Liar Paradox
The Liar Paradox: (In Logic: "To tell you the truth - I am lying")

Now that Scott McClellan, who spent much of the past decade lying to the American public, has decided to come clean and verify most of our suspicions as to what really happened - that the Bush baby fingered Valerie Plame, etc., etc. , we're supposed to dutifully pay him and his publishers our $25 - and be satisfied at that. Heartwarming it is, that conscience, even among politicos and exposed patsies, still lurks sulking behind the cultivated `game-show host' exteriors of our `elected' leaders. It isn't going to bring back the millions who have lost their lives in Iraq, Afghanistan, New Orleans, and New York's lower East Side, since the reign of terror began. And what about 9/11, Scott - will you tell us about what really happened in your next installment? You hero. And you are. At least one of these republican fatboys had the class to come forth and apologize.

Voting for McCain
I do not like Bush and never have. But I see disturbing similarities between him and the upstart frontrunner Obama. While this book makes clear Bush was criminally stupid, I fear Obama is truly evil. For the first time I will vote for a Rep for president. I stand behind a candidate, not a party. Sad that Bush had to ruin things for McCain and that the DNC picked an idiot when it had a great woman ready to take charge.

Too Little, Too Late
Who needs to read the ramblings of a former Bush lackey, when intelligent people with foresight, like Senators Jim Webb and Chuck Hagel, and former Secretary of State and Army General, Colin Powel (all combat veterans) and many others, saw that this was a failed war from the start, based on nothing but lies and innuendo from the White House?

This book is nothing but a punctuation mark to the reality of what thinking people knew from day one. The question is, what took McClellan so long to figure it out?

The product is nothing more than what any insightful person knew from day one. There is nothing new here, just a reaffirmation of the facts that the invasion of Iraq was nothing more than a Bush-Cheney infatuation with grabbing the Iraqi oil fields, based on lies to the American people, who are still paying the bill, in blood, sweat, tears, and dollars, while US infrastructure goes wanting.

If you've been completely in the political dark, maybe you need to read this book. However, if you are an aware and thinking individual, then this is nothing you don't already know. It just took McClellan a while to understand and figure out that he was being used by a bunch of draft-dodging neocons, or "chicken-hawks" to "sell" an illegal and useless war. I have no idea what the current cost of dollars is, but I do know that there are more than 4,000 American dead, not to mention the tens of thousands who are permanently maimed, all of whom are set at the feet of the neocon draft-dodgers, Bush, Cheney and their likeminded neocon and chicken-hawk ilk!

Again, this book is not worth the price, unless you have been living in a closet for six or seven years. In that case, you may learn something.

I just hope this clown gives some of his ill-gotten profits to the families of the honored dead and wounded that he helped send into to this Bush-Cheney initiated quagmire!
